About Yellowpad 65
Yellowpad 65 is a free, independent practice and study-notes site for the Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination): 100 practice questions with a note on every option, and study sheets laid out along the current outline.
What the site is for
One job: give you a mapped route from your first look at the exam to test day. The 60-question practice test follows the outline’s section split (9, 15, 18 and 18 items), the study guide goes deep on Sections III and IV, which carry 39 scored questions each, and the study plan turns that into weeks.
Everything here is free and runs in your browser. There is no sign-up, no paywall in front of any question, and no score kept after you close the page.
How the questions were checked
The 100 items are original multiple-choice practice questions, taken from the question bank behind the Series 65 practice app that the “Get the app” buttons lead to. They are not real exam questions, and no page on this site says otherwise. Before an item went live it passed four steps:
Solved blind
Each candidate was answered on its final four-option layout before its stored key was revealed.
Checked against the key
The blind answer was compared with the key. Of 113 candidates, 100 were kept; 2 were dropped as defective and 11 because they could be read two ways or did not sit cleanly in one outline section.
Annotated after the check
Only once the key was confirmed were the reasoning and a separate note on each of the four options written, so the notes explain a settled answer rather than argue for a guess.
Filed by section
Every item carries one of the four outline sections (15/25/30/30), which is what lets the section ledger under the practice pad set your results beside the outline weight.
Independence and sources
Yellowpad 65 has no affiliation with NASAA, which develops the exam, or FINRA, which administers it, and neither has reviewed these pages. Exam facts (130 scored questions plus 10 unscored, 180 minutes, a pass at 92 of the 130 scored) come from those two pages and were checked on 8 October 2026. Anything that changes, like the exam fee, is shown with the date it was checked and a link so you can confirm it.
